Should you ever become a teacher, you MUST go to Becker’s. It’s the bomb. It’s BEYOND the bomb. They have butcher paper for miles, that cool bric-a-brac stuff for bulletin boards, motivational posters, and all the things that secretly cost a lot of money but make you feel really productive at the end of the day because your classroom looks like a place where students should be learning. Yay!
No professional development today – that’s tomorrow – so I went to Becker’s and decorated my classroom. The school still looks, generally, like a hot mess. The Rock mentioned how worried he was to me . . . in the messy hallway . . . I’m not thinking about it.
Before I decorated it was a sad, empty, dark classroom, and it’s still no the prettiest around, but I think it’s much much better now. And I have lots more days this week to do it, once I know more about what I’m ACTUALLY teaching.

Classroom, before decorating

Classroom, post decorating

you need a class motto!

Can’t wait for PD to start tomorrow!

sounds so exciting! it’s great that so many parents came! for sped. that’s a good turnout. don’t get thrown by their histories…when you meet them you’ll “say he did what?” and you really seem to have a handle on that end of it.
how about this saying “what is popular isn’t always right and what is right isn’t always popular”
i have a few more if you’re interested…
stay enthused- i’m loving reading your blog. you’re gonna be great!! (you already are great!)
